Coronavirus Lockdowns Spur Dash to Defend Civil Rights in Court

State and local lockdown and stay-at-home orders, meant to curb the coronavirus contagion, have sent armed demonstrators into the streets and attorneys to court, to protest what they all see as a series of threats to constitutionally guaranteed freedoms.

Some Assembly Required: While Kentucky church goers won a federal appeals court ruling on May 2 restoring their right to attend drive in services, just days later the U.S. Supreme Court declined to intervene in an unsuccessful effort to lift a broad Pennsylvania order halting all non-life-sustaining business activity.
