Convicted Lawyer Dubbed ‘Taxi King’ Now Disbarred in Two States

A lawyer known as the ‘Taxi King’ who pleaded guilty to tax fraud in New York for not turning in surcharges he collected on cabs he owned was disbarred in New Jersey.

The New Jersey Supreme Court took action against Evgeny Alender Freidman, accepting the recommendation of its disciplinary board to disbar him for violating professional conduct rules by committing the crime. He’d previously been disbarred in New York over another matter involving his taxi business.
