Conservative Legal Group Challenges Courtroom Diversity Orders

A conservative legal advocacy group filed a judicial ethics complaint against three Illinois federal judges over courtroom policies that indicate they may be more likely to allow oral argument if the issue will be argued by a woman or person of color.

In a Thursday complaint, America First Legal, the group led by former Trump administration advisor Stephen Miller, argued these standing orders are unconstitutionally discriminatory, show judicial bias, and “undermine faith in the judiciary’s integrity.”
