A Colorado law that requires social media companies to disclose to minors the health impacts of using their platforms likely violates the First Amendment, a federal court said.

NetChoice—a trade association that represents social media companies—is likely to win on the merits of its claim that the requirement violates the First Amendment, said Judge William J. Martínez of the US District Court for the District of Colorado. Martínez granted NetChoice’s request for a preliminary injunction.

The US Supreme Court in August allowed Mississippi to enforce a law that will impose age-verification and parental-consent requirements while the legal fight moves forward. ...
