Colorado Governor Vetoes Social Media Bill to Thwart Guns, Drugs

Social media companies avoided proposed Colorado restrictions that would force them to crack down on users who conduct illegal activities on their platforms after Gov. Jared Polis (D) vetoed the measure Thursday.

Proponents argued the bill (SB25-086) would protect minors online by requiring social media sites to take new steps to thwart the sale of drugs and guns as well sex trafficking and sexual exploitation.
