Cocaine Found in FedEx Package Search Can Be Used as Evidence

Four kilos of cocaine found in two packages at a FedEx facility in North Carolina were properly used as evidence in a trial against the person who retrieved them from a porch after they were delivered, the Fourth Circuit said Friday.

Faruq Rose’s Fourth Amendment challenge to the search was rejected by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit because he didn’t have a legitimate expectation of privacy in the packages.
