- Devika Kornbacher hired as co-head of firm tech group
- Firm Aims to Boost technology offerings in U.S. and globally
Clifford Chance is bolstering its tech and intellectual property practice with the addition of former Vinson & Elkins partner Devika Kornbacher to co-head its global technology group.
The group advises clients on matters such as artificial intelligence, robotics, blockchain, big data and cybersecurity.
Kornbacher said in a statement that she “can’t wait to harness the power of an international tech practice and expand our presence in the US.”
She advises clients in areas such as licensing and protecting intellectual property rights. One of the world’s largest law firms, the UK-based Clifford Chance earned some $2.4 billion in revenues globally in the fiscal year ending in April.
Kornbacher will be co-chair of the global technology group along with Jonathan Kewley in London and Paul Landless in Singapore.
“The pandemic has accelerated the pace and scope of tech transactions, and cybersecurity and data privacy are now more critical than ever,” Kewley said.
Her addition is part of the UK-headquartered firm’s push to grow its technology offerings in the US, said Megan Gordon, the firm’s DC managing partner and part of the firm’s US tech group.
