Cleveland Indians Failed to Pay Cactus League Worker Overtime

Cleveland Indians Baseball Co. LLC violated federal labor law by failing to pay an Arizona spring training facility worker overtime, the District of Arizona ruled.

Jenae Finton, who worked for the director of Arizona operations at the club’s spring training facility, provided “more than enough evidence” that she performed work for which she is owed overtime, the court said, granting her summary judgment on that count.

Finton provided copies of emails she sent to her boss listing hours worked that would, if recorded properly, have resulted in several weeks in which she would have been paid overtime, the court said. ...
