Citi Employee Accused of Racist Comment Sues for Discrimination

An ex-Citigroup Inc. employee who lost her job for allegedly saying it was a “nightmare” to work with Indians during a job interview sued the bank alleging she was unfairly dismissed and faced discrimination.

Ann Watson, who worked as a senior vice president in the Finance Solutions Group, sued the bank in a London employment tribunal after she was dismissed in 2023 for alleged gross misconduct. She is seeking compensation for being wrongfully dismissed and discrimination because of her disability, sex and age. The bank denied the allegations.
