Christian Photographer Gets Gay Rights Ordinance Blocked

The Louisville/Jefferson County Metro Government may not enforce against a Christian wedding photography studio and its owner a 1999 ordinance requiring businesses to serve gay and lesbian customers because it’s substantially likely the law violates her free-speech rights, a federal judge ruled.

Chelsey Nelson Photography LLC and Chelsey Nelson are entitled to a preliminary injunction even though Louisville has never attempted to enforce its Fairness Ordinance against her, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky said Aug. 14.
