Child Pornography Claims Against Twitter Tossed on Appeal (1)

Social media giant Twitter Inc. will avoid liability for claims that the site maintained child pornography on its platform.

The lawsuit against Twitter, filed by a John Doe, alleged the company violated the Trafficking Victims Protection Act by having sexual abuse content that depicted Doe.

The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit wrote in an unpublished opinion Wednesday that the lower court correctly dismissed the majority of Doe’s claims, and it reversed the court’s denial of dismissal on another.
