Censured College Board Member Gets Supreme Court Review

The Supreme Court agreed to consider whether a public community college system violated the First Amendment when it censured one of its elected board members for speaking out against the governing body.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit agreed that Houston Community College board member David Wilson can continue his civil rights suit against the board for censuring him for voicing concerns over the board’s operations.
