A Michigan federal district court partially denied The Word Network Operating Company, Inc. and its owners’ summary judgment motion on the 42 U.S.C. § 1981 hostile work environment claim of a Black televangelist who broadcasted on TWN, because the owner repeatedly referred to an allegedly racist meme when communicating with the televangelist despite his protests, threatened to reduce his airtime, sent him an offensive photo, and constantly referred to him as a television character.
