An Illinois federal court ruled that a Black woman over 40 alleging violations of Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and state law when she wasn’t selected by Commonwealth Edison Company for a manager position she was qualified for failed to establish a prima facie case of discrimination or provide evidence of pretext, as the candidates chosen had broader experience and higher performance ratings, thus summary judgment was granted to ComEd.
