Caring For Your Mental Health a Must: IRS Chief Counsel Attorney

Attorneys should take advantage of well-being assistance programs available through local bar associations, an IRS Office of Chief Counsel attorney said.

Such programs are available for practicing attorneys who need help with mental health or substance abuse issues, Fred F. Murray, special counsel and professor-in-residence of the Office of Chief Counsel, said Friday at a virtual tax law conference hosted by the Federal Bar Association. Some experts say lawyers have deprioritized seeking help as the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted so many aspects of their lives.
