Cardinal Hickory Line’s Refuge Crossing Must Wait Pending Appeal

The co-owners of the Cardinal Hickory Creek transmission line that will travel from Iowa to Wisconsin must wait to proceed with construction within a wildlife refuge, the Seventh Circuit ruled Friday in a loss for the companies.

American Transmission Co., Dairyland Power Cooperative, and ITC Midwest had urged the appeals court to let work continue while they challenged a judge’s finding that the project wasn’t compatible with the purposes of the refuge.
