A proposed class of California wine drinkers who accused retailer BevMo of a “bait and switch” scheme in its online and brick-and-mortar stores should read store signage more carefully next time, a California appeals court said Tuesday.
In a suit asserting causes of action for violations of the Consumer Legal Remedies Act and Business and Professions Code among others, BevMo customers alleged the company misled wine buyers by placing signage for wines with high numerical ratings next to displays for different, lower-quality wines.
