California Website Accessibility Suit Revived for Further Data

A blind consumer who sought to use a website operated by Ricardo of Beverly Hills Inc. is entitled to jurisdictional discovery to determine whether the luggage company is subject to suit in California, a state appeals court ruled.

A trial court erred in granting Ricardo’s request to be let out of the suit on the evidence before it, the California Court of Appeal, Fourth District, said Jan. 8.

But the lead plaintiff, Cheryl Thurston, doesn’t yet have enough evidence to show the trial court has jurisdiction.
