California Top Court to Weigh Bias Liability For Employer Agents

The California Supreme Court on Wednesday agreed to take up a question about the reach of the state’s Fair Employment and Housing Act posed by a federal appeals court.

In March, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit asked the state’s top court to decide whether workers can hold business entities that act as agents of their employers or prospective employers directly liable under California’s job bias law.
