The California Senate on Tuesday passed legislation to create a concealed carry weapons permit process that complies with a landmark US Supreme Court ruling.
Gun-rights advocates plan to sue over the legislation because it contains so many restrictions on carrying a weapon in public. The Supreme Court in N.Y. State Rifle & Pistol Ass’n v. Bruen held that the Second Amendment protects an individual’s right to carry a handgun for self-defense outside the home.
