California City’s RV Restrictions Withstand Constitutional Test

The ordinance Sebastopol, Calif., adopted to combat an influx of residential vehicles used by homeless people is constitutional, a federal court said.

The rules adopted in 2022 aren’t cruel and unusual punishment, don’t violate equal protection or due process, or restrict the right to intrastate travel, and don’t result in an unlawful seizure, Judge Kandis A. Westmore said for the US District Court for the Northern District of California.
