California doesn’t violate the Second Amendment by sharing information it collects from gun owners with private researchers studying how to prevent gun violence, a federal trial court said.
Gun owners claimed the disclosure of the personal data they were required to submit to be able to own a gun or carry a concealed weapon chills Second Amendment rights because some perspective gun owners will refrain from purchasing guns and others won’t apply for or renew their concealed weapon permits.
