Calif. Judges, Lawyers, Doctors Must Get Implicit Bias Training

California lawyers, judges, and doctors would have to take implicit bias training every two years under new laws designed to reduce unconscious biases and internal stereotypes people have about others.

The training would focus on the unconscious biases people have based on characteristics in Government Code 11135 – sex; race; color; religion; ancestry; national origin; ethnic group identification; age; mental disability; physical disability; medical condition; genetic information; marital status; or sexual orientation.
