Businessman Fights to Revive Defamation Suit Over Mueller Report

A Georgian-American businessman urged a Washington federal appeals court to revive his lawsuit claiming he was defamed in part of Robert Mueller’s Russian election interference report related to rumored compromising tapes of former President Donald Trump.

The three-judge panel for the US Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit heard arguments Thursday in a case brought against the former Special Counsel and the Justice Department by Giorgi Rtskhiladze, who claimed that a footnote in the Mueller report tying him to the potential Trump tapes damaged his professional reputation.
