A group of 88 business groups is asking the US Labor Department for more time to comply with a new rule expanding overtime eligibility to millions more workers, warning that the current timeline is far too short to implement the changes.
Thursday’s letter to the DOL’s Wage and Hour Division pressed the agency to give employers at least an extra two months from the rule’s initial effective date of July 1 to prepare.
