Burger King Faces Appeal in ‘Impossible Whopper’ False Ad Suit

Vegans who say Burger King Corp. misled them into believing the plant-based “Impossible Whopper” patty would be cooked separately from beef and chicken hope the Eleventh Circuit will see things their way.

Phillip Williams and others allege that despite Burger King’s representations that it uses an “Impossible burger,” a trademarked meat-free and vegan-meat alternative, their strict vegan principles were compromised by the use of a common grill that tainted their food with meat residue.

“Impossible” meat, owned independently from Burger King, is one of the most popular meat alternatives in the country, the lawsuit says.
