A class action challenging when the Federal Bureau of Prisons transfers inmates to prerelease custody under the First Step Act was dismissed by a federal court.

The individual claims are now moot and a provisional class can’t be certified for their claim seeking to compel agency action, Judge Amit P. Mehta said Monday for the US District Court for the District of Columbia.
