Rachael Rollins, the first Black female US Attorney for Massachusetts, is resigning a day before the Justice Department’s internal watchdog will unveil investigative findings about her term in office, according to two sources familiar with the situation.

“I will be tendering my resignation to President Biden shortly,” Rollins wrote Tuesday to the Boston-based office in an email obtained by Bloomberg Law. “My presence has become a distraction and the work you do is far too important to be overshadowed.”
