Bondi Attorney General Nomination Advanced by Senate Panel (1)

The Senate Judiciary Committee advanced attorney general nominee Pam Bondi along party lines, setting her up for expected confirmation to lead President Donald Trump’s Justice Department.

Bondi, considered a relatively mainstream pick compared with other Trump selections for key positions, cleared the Republican-led panel 12-10 on Wednesday. The full Senate is expected to quickly take up her nomination.

The vote came amid a slew of firings and reassignments of veteran career DOJ officials deemed hostile to the new administration’s agenda. Those moves raised alarm among Democrats voting against Bondi.
