Blockchain Loan Dispute Catches California High Court’s Eye

The California Supreme Court will consider whether an appellate court was correct in preventing BlockFi Lending LLC from moving a bitcoin-backed loan dispute to Delaware.

The justices granted review Wednesday of a June ruling that refused to allow the case to move to Delaware, which was in the selected forum in the loan documents, citing California public policy against contractual, predispute jury waivers. Delaware allows waiving contracting parties’ right to trial by jury.
