Black Maryland Program Director’s Firing Bias Claims Revived

The state of Maryland must face a Black man’s claims that he was fired as the director of a residential education program for at-risk adolescents because of his race and an internal discrimination complaint he lodged, the Fourth Circuit ruled Monday.

Charles Holloway was told he was terminated as program director at Freestate Challenge Academy because he had mismanaged the budget and for low enrollment numbers.
