Statues honoring the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and retired Justice Sandra Day O’Connor would be added to the U.S. Capitol or its grounds under a bill that cleared the House of Representatives.
The bipartisan bill (S. 3294) passed 349-63 under suspension of the rules Monday and goes next to President Joe Biden for his signature.
Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.) is the sponsor of the bill. Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), Susan Collins (R-Maine), and Kyrsten Sinema (D-Ariz.) are among its co-sponsors.
