Big Law Partner Becomes Menlo Ventures’ First General Counsel

Menlo Ventures, a prominent Silicon Valley venture capital firm, has recruited a newly promoted law firm partner to be its first general counsel.

Deborah Carrillo, a corporate and securities attorney at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman in San Francisco, was announced May 5 as Menlo Ventures’ new legal chief. A spokeswoman for the Menlo Park, Calif.-based venture capital firm told Bloomberg Law that the general counsel position is a new one at the early-stage investor.
