Biden to Nominate Prosecutor to Sixth Circuit Tennessee Seat (1)

President Joe Biden plans to nominate a top federal prosecutor to the Cincinnati-based US appeals court as the administration continues its efforts to reshape the federal circuit courts.

Kevin Ritz, the intended nominee to the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, has been the US Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee since 2022. He was previously an assistant US attorney from 2005 to 2022 in the district, where he served as appellate chief from 2018 to 2022, special counsel to the US Attorney from 2011 to 2022, and criminal appellate chief from 2010 to 2018.
