Biden Taps State, US Magistrate Judges for California Courts

President Joe Biden plans to pick a federal magistrate judge and a state court judge for district courts in California, almost two weeks before the presidential election.

Benjamin Cheeks, a magistrate judge for the San Diego-based Southern District of California, is Biden’s choice for a seat on the trial bench there. Cheeks was an assistant US attorney in the district earlier in his career.
