The first people of color who’d serve as federal trial court judges in Rhode Island and in western Virginia, if confirmed, and the top executive of the MacArthur Justice Center are among six intended judicial nominations announced Wednesday by the White House.
Judge Melissa DuBose, who is Black, has been an associate judge on Rhode Island state district court in Providence since 2019. She previously was a prosecutor in the state’s attorney general’s office.
