Biden Got Early Start on Judicial Vetting, Documents Show

The White House began vetting potential judicial nominees in the first few days of President Joe Biden’s administration, and even before the inauguration, Senate questionnaires filled out by nominees show.

Ketanji Brown Jackson, nominated to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit, was approached by White House Counsel Dana Remus Jan. 26, six days after Biden was sworn in, about a potential nomination to fill Merrick Garland’s anticipated vacancy on the court following his nomination as attorney general.
