Seth Aframe was confirmed to a New Hampshire federal appellate seat after President Joe Biden’s first pick for the job withdrew amid controversy.
The career federal prosecutor won bipartisan confirmation to the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit on Monday, 49-40.
Aframe received support from law enforcement, bar presidents, as well as prosecutors and defense attorneys.
“Mr. Aframe is uniquely qualified to serve as a judge on the Court of Appeals,” former assistant US attorneys in New Hampshire said in a letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee.
