Biden Picks First Texas District Court Nominee of His Term (1)

President Joe Biden intends to nominate a US magistrate judge to serve on a Texas trial court, the first district court nomination in the state during his tenure.

John A. Kazen has served as a US magistrate judge for the Southern District of Texas since 2018. He was previously a partner at the law firm he established, Kazen, Meurer, & Pérez, LLP.

The nomination announced Wednesday is the latest instance of Biden working with Republicans to select nominees for red state trial court vacancies.
