BGOV Bill Summary: S. 3103, Child Abuse Statutes of Limitations

The federal statute of limitations for crimes involving minor victims — including sexual abuse, human trafficking, forced labor, or child pornography— would be eliminated under S. 3103.

Victims would be permitted to file a complaint for offenses committed before or after the bill’s enactment. Under current law, victims can file a complaint within 10 years from the date of an offense.
