Berkshire Unit Beats Local Chamber of Commerce Over Bias Claims

A Berkshire Hathaway Inc. insurance unit is off the hook for the costs of a suit against the local chamber of commerce in Parkland, Fla., over its alleged pressure campaign to get a hotel to cancel a Muslim organization’s conference.

An exclusion for discrimination claims in the chamber’s management liability insurance policy precludes coverage for the lawsuit, the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida ruled Tuesday.
