Award of $20 Million Over ‘Miracle’ Cancer Care Mostly Upheld

Convicted “naturopath” Robert Young is liable for more than $20 million to a California woman who said her breast cancer worsened significantly when she followed his alternative treatment methods, a state appellate court said.

Dawn Kali said she began following Young’s “cleansing” treatment in 2007 after undergoing surgery for breast cancer. Under Young’s direction, Kali followed a mostly liquid diet and decided to forgo traditional treatments when her cancer returned.
