Authors Guild Sues Humanities Endowment Over Canceled Grants (1)

The Authors Guild and several individual writers and scholars sued the National Endowment for the Humanities over its termination of congressionally appropriated grants worth $175 million intended for about 1,400 people.

The recent “mass termination” was “not only utterly unexpected and unprecedented—it was flagrantly unlawful,” according to the lawsuit filed Monday with the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
