Atlanta Braves Counsel Hits It Out of the Park

The sports law industry is “extraordinarily” competitive and to be successful you can’t squander early opportunities, a partner with BakerHostetler’s sports and entertainment team told Bloomberg BNA.

“Once you get the opportunity, it’s your responsibility to shine,” Ronald B. Gaither said, describing how he became outside litigation counsel for the Atlanta Braves.

Gaither’s success didn’t happen overnight. A major hurdle was finding a mentor at the big law firms where he practiced, a challenge Gaither said he knows other black male attorneys face.
