AT&T Loses Challenge to FCC Opening 6 GHz Band for Broadband Use (1)

AT&T Services Inc. lost a challenge to the Federal Communications Commission’s plan for opening up the 6 GHz band of spectrum for unlicensed use to meet growing demand for wireless broadband access.

AT&T and other licensed users of the band claimed in a petition for review that the commission didn’t properly guard against harmful interference. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, in a Tuesday order, denied their petition, except in relation to objections raised by radio and television broadcasters using the band.
