Arizona’s Tougher Sex Offender Law Passes Constitutional Muster

Arizona’s new stricter reporting requirements for sex offenders doesn’t violate the ex-post facto clause, a federal court said.

At issue were senate bills 1236 and 1404, that require level one offenders to provide more personal information about their victims and offenses, and change their reporting requirements, including requiring them to report their status to their child’s school when they have custody of the child.
