An Arizona Superior Court judge on Wednesday declined to grant a temporary restraining order to stop the 2020 election audit led by Republican lawmakers that includes recounting millions of ballots in Maricopa County.
The Arizona Democratic Party and the one Democrat on the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors filed a lawsuit against state Senate leaders and Cyber Ninjas, the company hired to complete the audit, alleging ballot privacy and security violations. Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Daniel Martin said plaintiffs did not prove the breaches or threatened breaches of voter privacy needed to approve a temporary halt.
