Apple Gets Patent Suit Over Face ID Tech Out of Albright’s Court

U.S. Judge Alan Albright “clearly abused” his discretion in keeping a patent infringement suit against Apple Inc. in Texas, the Federal Circuit ruled in a decision sending the case to California.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit found there was “no sound basis” to keep the suit over Apple’s Touch ID and Face ID technology in Albright’s U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas, according to a nonprecedential order.
