Amazon Workers Not Entitled to Pay for Mandatory Security Checks

Amazon.com Services Inc. workers in Oregon aren’t entitled to be paid for the time they spend waiting to undergo mandatory security screenings, the state supreme court said.

The ruling follows two losses for Amazon on the same issue. In 2021, the online retail giant settled a multidistrict suit on the issue for $13.5 million, and a federal court in Connecticut said in September a similar case can proceed under Connecticut law.
