Alphabet Loses Bid for High Court Look at Investor Google+ Suit

Alphabet Inc. lost its bid for review of a dispute over whether it needed to warn investors about a Google+ security flaw that had already occurred after the U.S. Supreme Court Monday declined to hear the case.

The conglomerate that owns Google asked the high court to weigh in on a U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit decision from June partially reviving a securities suit accusing Alphabet of failing to disclose a Google+ flaw even after internal deliberation on the cybersecurity issues. The bug potentially exposed the private information of approximately half a million users.
